From what you can make out of the trailers.. this looks like a CCC movie.. Cheesy Cheap Comedy !! Neither the music or the movie has been released in the UK. I’d say be happy about that.. cause its not worth the Pounds..
..
I hear the movie is a copy of Saving Silverman. If only they had decided to keep the copy similar to the original in regards to ‘no music’ then this waste of an album would have been saved!! Daboo Malik is the brother of Anu Malik who has never been able to make a mark in mainstream Bollywood. He does obsolete sidelined flop movies soundtrack. I guess that’s why he’s on Kisse Pyaar Karoon now .. lol.. with lyricist Shabbir Ahmed.
..
Review
Track 1 – Kisse Pyaar Karoon – It has the amazing Shaan along with music director Daboo Malik at his worst!! Such a lousy title song. The lyrics are purely below average and the music has no heat. A simple loop with barely any variation or creativity. 4/10 .
..
Track 2 – Aahoon Aahoon -Sonu Nigam and Sunidhi Chauhan sing this romantic belt-er. It reminds of late 90′s – early 2000′s Bollywood music only to a funkier slower beat. Good vocals but the composition lacks the oomph. The lyrics are good too but the overall package is average yet again. This track can get somewhat decent airplay on Asian radio stations in UK in the non-prime hours as the punch line is catchy. 6/10 .
..
Track 3 – Sanam Sanam – Probably the worst thing you will hear on this album. So damn cheaapp.. You will notice how bad Daboo’s music work is. His work sounds worse than the worst bedroom producers in this country. The beats sound polyphonic and the lyrics are rubbish. Shaan & Shreya Ghoshal are wasted. Take a pen and scratch the CD because of this song.. 2/10 .
..
Track 4 – Chunar Chunar – Shreya comes on with Rahul Vaidya on this track. It sounds as if it was made and is set in the the early 90′s. I can visualise proper Bollywood run around the bushes on this one. Daboo and Shabbir prove once again that they are simply crap at what they do.. 3/10 .
..
Track 5 – Jahan Tak Ye Meri Nazar – Finally some decent vocals by Shaan and Shreya on this OST. Albums like this prove that even seasoned singers like these have a ‘bad hair day’ with highs and lows. Although better than the others on this OST, this song is still the the worst work compared to their other songs. It simply implies Daboo needs lessons from his brother Anu Malik. 3/10.
..
Track 6 – Kisse Pyaar Karoon (Remix) – DJ Aqeel has been out of the scene for a while now. If he is counting on making a comeback with this.. then I hate to break his bubble. Although a few thousand times better than the original but still the song has no future. 6/10 .
..
Track 7 – Aahoon Aahoon (Remix) – Remix by Amal Malik ‘never heard of’. I prefer the original cause this man tries to make this a Spanish romantic song for a Bollywood movie. So not happening.. 5/10 .
..
FINAL WORD
Rubbish – 3/10 .
Never heard of production this bad. The compositions and instrumentation’s are simply horrid.. Lyrics and vocals are below average. The album is torture to anyone with even the slightest musical discretion. Recommended tracks – NONE. Should you buy this album - Might sound rude.. but you need to be MADDD..

You can’t imagine how high my expectations were from this movie!!!
Nikhil Advani made hits like Kal Ho Na Ho & Salaam-E-Ishq and then got down to making Chandni Chowk to China… Ashutosh Gowarikar made Lagaan & then made Swades [although a good movie but not successful at the box office]… Pridarshan made Hulchul & then made a list of crap movies…
Dint expect Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra to follow this trend !!!
Rang De Basanti was epic, the trailers of Delhi-6 looked great, the storyline seemed unusual, the cast is good.. but the movie is a TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT.. !!
..
PLOT
Waheeda Rehman is in USA with her Hindu son who married a Muslim girl & then moved to USA. She is sick & does not have long to live. She wishes to come back to her old house in the nooks of Chandni Chowk in Delhi. Her grandson Abhishek Bachchan offers to bring her back. He’s never been to India & is welcomed by the locals in the typical loving way. Stars like Rishi Kapoor, Om Puri, Divya Dutta, Atul Kulkarni, Vijay Raaz, Aditi Rao, Prem Chopra & many more are the locals of this Delhi-6 area. Also here is wannabe Indian Idol Sonam Kapoor in a conservative family with a dad who wants to marry her off soon against her will. A mixture of stories start sprawling around Abhishek as he sees the day-to-day life of India. He appreciates how everyone gets together for every little thing here & how they are all one big family. He is starting to love the people & the surroundings. But then to break the bubble, a local pest known as “Kaala Bandar” is causing panic which eventually leads to unrest & finally communal riots. Abhishek tries to be a mediator but is shunned out every time. He is about to leave the country when he has a change of heart & decides to stay and help ‘his own people’.
I’ll leave the part of ‘how he helps’ for you to see if you ever decide to watch this bore…

REVIEW
If you were expecting a new story and genre of cinema then you were right in doing so. This movie does deliver that to be frank… but in a very boring, slow and un-slick style. The script is interleaved with a number of parallel stories running together. The stories are not confusing but there is barely any continuity. You won’t really enjoy the flow of this movie. It’s slow and not crisp at all. It does not build up on the graph nor does it keep you engrossed.
The innovative story idea goes to a total waste due to over ambitious aims of the production team. The whole Kaala Bandar concept is sooooooo rubbish & cheesy.. and highly overdone!! The performances are decent but yet again none so outstanding or captivating. Abhishek is the main face of the movie and is in almost every scene. He does a good job but yet you won’t take much notice of his work due to crappy story telling style. Soonam is cute and good only in the Masakali song. Rest is average cause she barely has a few lines ..
..
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE MOVIE
- Music is the best thing about this movie.
- Guest appearance by Amitabh Bachchan.
- Good job by Abhishek Bachchan throughout the movie.
- Sonam is cute & charming mainly in the Masakali song.
- Good story but told in the most obsolete & boring way. The way Mehra has shown how the society works and how the irrelevant things become big in India is true to its depiction.
- The idea of Delhi moving in New York is quite cool in the song Dil Gira Dafatan.
..
LOWLIGHTS OF THE MOVIE
- Very slow flow to the movie.
- Not at all engrossing & captivating. You are not looking forward to anything in the movie.
- The Kaala Bandar funda is way overdone and very cheesy.
- No glamour or show off. [That's a relief for a change though.. ]
- The songs are so good that Mr. Director decided to run the full movie using those songs as background scores. There is barely any other background score at all in the movie.
- The sound design and sound effects are absolutely hopeless throughout the movie. They completely ruin the experience.
- The overall post-production on the visuals, sound & edit is quite bad.
- There is major use of evident green screening for a lot of shots. Looks really bad.
..
FINAL WORD
I think I have been extremely critical to the movie in my review above.. that’s because I had really high expectations from it… So lets tone down.. Be fair and neutral..
Overall Average – 5/10 .
This movie is a classic example of what you can call a drag.. Also an example of how poor post-production can ruin a good story with fairly good performances. Try not to fall asleep when you see this. And if you have any expectations.. please leave them at home..

A couple of songs by Pritam & they expect the album to do well. Doesn’t always work.. Considering most of his work is “inspired”. No doubt the man has got talent .. but Gourav Dasgupta easily outdoes Pritam on this OST with his songs sounding much better compared to the ones done by the great Pritam…
Gourav Dasgupta is an upcoming name in the Bollywood music scene with the likes of Amit Trivedi. I think this man too has some mettle & a long way to go…
..
A Sci-fi thriller with the title of a R.D.Burman & Anand Bakshi classic, with the cast of sexy Bipasha Basu in the role of a DJ… & “Mr. Do it Different” Neil Nitin Mukesh along with a new director Jehangir Surti under the Eros banner does build up a lot of expectations. You would expect the psychedelic beats and the ambient lounge that goes with the futuristic fast music taste. Well… lets see how it does..
..
REVIEW
Track 1 – Gazab – I like the production of this song. Sounds nothing like a typical Pritam song. Sunidhi Chauhan & Shaan give some really good vocals to average Irshad Kamil lyrics. It’s a fun song with a catchy Bass & beat pattern on the music side and a ‘grow on you’ chorus which will sound very familiar. This song can do well in London Bollywood parties as a warm up party starter. Glad to see Pritam experiment with arrangements and instruments. Like it – 7/10 .
..
Track 2 – Rock The Party – Here we go down the Sci-fi ‘Love Story 2050′ route with Sunidhi Chauhan’s average vocals. Although a fast party bop-per song, it has a certain calm and softness about it. I think that comes from Sunidhi’s vocals. A catchy chorus & punch line again. I think the whole song has been created around Bipasha Basu who plays the role of a club DJ in the movie. Will be quite interesting to see how it’s been shot. the lyrics are average yet again this time by Avishek, Ravi & Sheershak Anand. Decent work by Gourav Dasgupta. Although I don’t see this song working too well in UK Asian market. 6.5/10 .
..
Track 3 – Power – Gourav Dasgupta experiments with this track & I think it fails !! Dibyendu Mukherjee is a brilliant singer but sounds like he is trying to change his voice in this song compared to track 4. Sure it demonstrates his versatility but whole concept does not work. This song is a slower deja vu of Paisa Paisa of Victory & many other such songs that talk about the power of money & it’s intoxication. The lyrics by Syed Gulrez & Prashant are not new or brilliant. Skip this track if you want- 5/10 .
..
Track 4 – Aa Dekhen Zara (Lounge) – After the great R.D. Burman made this song a rage.. there have been endless number of remixes of it. This is by far the best version of the song I have ever heard. Dibyendu Mukherjee & Gourav Dasgupta are the stars of this epic work. Kudos to them !!! I know people who have heard this song & fallen head over heals for Dibyendu for stunning vocals. Even backing vocals by Shweta Vijay are really good. Gourav plainly uses a tambourine, re-verb’ed electric guitar and Congo percussion’s. He easily outdoes any other lounge producer in Bollywood by miles. I could listen to this song a repeat endlessly. It surely has place in the next Buddha Bar compilation. Fantastic song – 9/10 .
..
Track 5 – Mohabbat Aapse – Another romantic in Pritam style but finally with some good original lyrics in this OST by Irshad Kamil. Most noteworthy & outstanding in this song are the vocals of Aakriti Kakkar… This Delhi girl is not just good looking but the next Shreya Ghoshal of Indian female vocals. She’s already done some really good songs but I think this is the best of her. The best thing about her is that she sounds fresh and like a new voice in every song she does. Track 5 is all about her with lot of credit to Irshad too. Pritam’s musical work is average but a great choice of picking up Aakriti & Irshad of this song. Good listen – 8/10 .
..
Track 6 – Power Club Mix – The song is crapppp… But the version is at least better than the original Track 3. It’s a mix of house with trance and a tinge of rock to it. I guess we will see it as a background track through the fast paced scenes in the movie. Skip again.. – 5/10 .
..
Track 7 – Gazab Club Mix – DJ Sanj doesn’t do much to this song except for give it a Michael Jackson’s Billy Jean beat and then resort to a more Indian beat on the chorus. Still prefer the original. I will still play Track 1 compared to this version. Wasted mix.. – 5/10 .
..
Track 8 – Aa Dekhen Zara – Neil Nitin Mukesh decided to sing this song himself… and he does a decent good job. We have heard Amitabh, Aamir, Sharukh, Sanjay Dutt.. etc. do a bit on the mic … so nothing new here. Singer Sunaina joins in where we hear Bipasha was originally supposed to sing this. But I guess Gourav decided to drop her. We have seen the trailer’s for this song on TV & so we know the club trance feel to it. The music does full justice to what the Director wanted to achieve visually. This song sure has a future in the London clubs & also is on high rotation on Asian radio channels. It surely has the potential to be big. 7/10 .
..
FINAL WORD
Overall Average – 6/10 .
The music sure complements the movie theme and requirements and delivers to the expectations of what we expected it to be. That is what is disappointing about it… No surprises & no outstanding work. A couple of terrible & a couple of good ones make it a balanced average album.Worth a listen no doubt.. and the Aa Dekhen Zara (lounge mix) is a must keep on your Ipod’s.

For a crime thriller Bollywood movie, you would expect dark haunting music…… but not lame music !! Cause that is exactly what this OST is..
The album for this Kay Kay & Arbaaz Khan starer movie is a compilation of 9 songs out of which 6 are instrumentals. These 6 instrumentals are plain background scores that have been used through the movie ranging from 1 – 3 minutes. So nothing exciting there either
Plus the 3 songs that do have some vocals don’t even make it to the average mark !!
Manish Gupta has written some great movies like Sarkar, D, James & Darna Jaroori Hai. Now this is the first time he is directing a full length movie. I would imagine a movie about a psychopathic killer and a cover up police case would barely have any music requirements in the script.. only dark-suspenseful background score. But then why come out with an OST album that wont sell..?? Even when you have decided to make an OST album for an off-beat movie, why not get a known music team on board?
For The Stoneman Murders OST, Manish decides to write the lyrics himself along with Kumaar. He then gives the music department to sidelined duo Siddhartth-Suhas who have done music for films like Dil Dosti Etc., Rama Rama Kya Hai Dramaaa & Bhram… none ever so successful.
..
REVIEW
Best not to expect anything at all from this OST..
Track 1 – Qaatilaana – Sunidhi Chauhan renders some amazing songs… and then she does songs like this!! She delivers absolutely boring vocals to this “dance-bar” item number. The lyrics are duff while the music & composition are simply ordinary and basic. If you have heard enough cheesy Bollywood music then you can predict the following music bar and lyrics. Nuff said.. Skip it.. 4/10 .
..
Track 2 – Sooni-Sooni Rah Pe – This haunting rock song has very clear visuals. When you listen to it you can visualize what the shots will look like for this music piece with empty streets, dark, night, fast forward shots of Mumbai. Suraj Jagan sings this song pretty well but the lyrics are ordinary yet again that describe the killer for you and thus not interesting. I like the lead guitar in this song. But the 4 minute package still does not do the trick. Average of 6/10 .
..
Track 3 – Stoneman – Another rock song with a dirty lead guitar about our killer yet again. I wonder if he is the villain or hero of this movie.. But nonetheless, this is the title track of the album and seems to be the most used in the movie from what you can get of the trailers. Music director Suhas Shetty sings it himself and does manage to give it the dark aura. The song does work very well for the movie but not on its own. 6/10 .
..
Track 4 – Midnight at Matunga (Instrumental) – Add a deep bass guitar track to the music of Track 3 & you get Track 4. Although I love the bass guitar at the start of this music piece and the drop in music to a piano & bass guitar around 1:15 into the song. I also like the name. Don’t remember when I last went to Matunga.lol . So I guess I will give it a 6.5/10 .
..
Track 5 – The Stoneman Cometh (Instrumental) - The typical horror sequence start with violins & back into Track 3 with a few variables. Siddhartth & Suhas are definitely short of compositional creativity. 5/10 .
..
Track 6 – Killer In The Kholi (Instrumental) – Sounds like the sequence for when the killer is about to commit the murders. A bit of dark vocal chanting confirms the plot of religious human sacrifice. Creepy.. 6.5/10 .
..
Track 7 – The Chase (Instrumental) – As the name suggests, it is the background music for the chase sequence. Finally something different with a lot of variation and quality from Siddhartth & Suhas. Good use of instruments in an experimental way. Listen to it a few times & it will drown you in the sequence and chain of events. I can easily call it the best piece on this CD considering there isn’t much competition. 7.5/10 .
..
Track 8 – The Ritual (Instrumental) - Some really good string orchestration to a march past beat pattern. But just not innovative enough. It sounds so familiar. 7/10 for a fab orchestra at work with soft drums at the end.
..
Track 9 – Requiem To The Stoneman (Instrumental) - Think Requiem for a Dream & cross it with Track 3. Voila.. we get a theme music piece for a sad climax. 6/10 .
..
FINAL WORD
Below Average – 4.5/10 .
I see no point in putting an OST album together for a soundtrack of background scores. Its not even that they are completely unique scores as they are mostly variations of one another. The instrumental pieces are much better than the songs. The soundtrack does manage to develop the satanical, haunting, dark property through sound thus coming true to it’s purpose in this movie… but lacks creativity. Save your money for some other music album…
