I recently completed my first year as a DJ in Cardiff on Valentines Day.. !!! It’s been an absolute pleasure & a great learning curve. Thank you for all your support and appreciation. In this one year I have performed with the likes of RDB, Panjabi MC, Raghav, Dr. Zeus, DJ Fricktion, Tru Skool and Specialist, DCS, Juggy D, Imran Khan, DJ H, DJ Gaurav, DJ Raheem and many more in Cardiff, Leicester, London.. and many other private & club events.

I have been the resident DJ at club Monchinos and done concert afterparties for Alice Cooper, Funeral for a Friend, Madness, Rhianna, Status Quo, Manic Street Preachers, Foo Fighters, Stereophonics, Motorhead, Heaven and Hell…. and so on.. It’s been Bollywood, Bhangra, Chillout Lounge, HOuse, RnB, Rock, Ska, Drum & Bass, Trance, Punk and many other genres of music.

Clearly, I have had an eventful year and I thank everyone who has been a part of it. There is lots more to come this year… Big up my best friend Imran and the Monchinos staff for being a major part of everything I have done here.. Thank you !!!

Just a brief description about these before you go on and listen to them.

The reason for choosing this 1965 song from the movie Janwar called ‘Tumse Achha Kaun Hai’ is because surprisingly it has never been remixed before. The song has a Rock n Roll feel to it quiet different and shocking for that time with the music in single time while the lyrics are in double time and thus a little difficult to remix. Clearly.. I like challenges.

The first remix is something new. A classic Bollywood remix to a RnB beat with Indian fusion instruments like Santoor, Banjo, Sitar, flute etc. I really loved doing this one.. Took quiet a while.. Something new and not quiet tried and tested.. wanted to check if you would like listening to something as modern and still traditional like this.

Where all the remixes are done to change traditional into western modern, the second remix is an attempt to bring the classic to folk… keep the Indian music to India.. but in the style and genre we love the most to dance to.. A plain Bhangra approach to a Hindi song with a number of traditional instruments from the Punjab valley.

The third remix is somewhere i wanted to use samples of the original work.. although not legally authorised to .. but i could for educational purposes This one i did in about a total of 24hrs so please excuse the incompleteness. This one is my favourite  and I am going to work  a lot on this  and develop  this further. 

I am also aware of all the timing issues in the mixes. A few things need re-recording and further work. Dint have enough time to deadline so had to leave them to the minimum. The vocals most definitely have to be re-recorded.

To let you know the technical details, another thing tried and tested.. [but failed] is that the vocals were recorded without any music on a click track at a standard tempo and pulled and stretched to fit the music later.. That’s why they sound off at times.. but do doubtedly.. an excellent job on the vocals by the singer.. It’s just that I am pretty crap with mixing vocals..
